Nice leather!!

I've been messing with this swatch of horse hide leather I was sent, and I have to say it's some tough stuff! I've tried to rub it warm and put water on it to see if the water would soak in/through, but it didn't. I ran my thumbnail on it as hard as I could stand it, using it like a knife, and made four lines in the leather...after a week the lines are gone. At first I was sure they'd be permanent, but they're completely gone. My only problem is - I need someone to lend me the scratch to buy a jacket made with this leather! I ride all year 'round because my bike is all I own for transportation, and I need something tough and more waterproof than cow hide leather, and this horse hide is it!
